Movers that don't pack?
Question:I am not too familiar with the moving process. Therefore I was wondering if there are moving companies out there that just move your stuff and don't pack it?
If there are:
1) Are they cheaper?
2) Are there any good ones in the SF Bay Area?
Answers:
Some of the U-pack companies won't unpack. The major movers, Mayflower, Allied and United to name a few all give you the option of packing your own boxes. Even if you pack your own boxes, they will still wrap your furniture in protective covers.
I am in the process of moving myself and now know way more about the process than I could ever actually need.
yes, ABF soes this, U-pack, they haul, U save...or some crp like that
Your belongings need to be packed or there will be breakage. If you value them, pack them. When packing always label the boxes plainly indicating which room the items came from. For example, Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom, etc. It makes things so much easier on the other end of the move.
You can have them do it, or do it yourself. Just remember one thing-If you pack a box and it gets destroyed, it's your problem. They won't insure it. When I moved, I packed everything that was not valuable, and left the rest to them. Saved money and had my valuables protected.
