Better ways to cool off room?
Question:is there any inventive ways to cool off my room?
i have a fan in front of my window blowing air to my open door for circulation and a ceiling fan going but its not helping me beat the heat...
is there like a wa to use dry ice, wet towls or any other trick that might help?
Answers:
Keep your windows closed and cover the window to keep heat out put something on the outside of the window e.g. a bamboo blind....to stop the heat hitting the window ...
keep your ceiling fan on and point your standard fan towards you when you are in the room...also keep the room tidy and use the least amount of power (televisions etc) which all add heat to a room if you are in the room use wet towels in front of the fan to blow the air cool .do not put the towel on the fan just in front of it on a chair or something but the fan must hit the towel for this to work also . you can use a bowl of ice in front of fan to cool down ...believe me these things do work I used to be a fever nurse and these things were used in the tropics to cool down buildings
Sometimes it helps to close your curtains during the day and open them only when the sun is gone. That way the heat can't get into your room.
The air will find its way in the window and out the door (or the other way around) but if you point the fan from one to the other all you do is create a corridor of fast air that ignores the rest of the room.
My aunt used to put ice in front of a fan to cool the room, in the absence of an air-conditioner. do not use dry ice, especially if you do not have good circulation in your room. dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide which is harmful in large doses.
Evaporative cooling is natural and has low cost involved.
Over the roof you can spread thick sheet of sack (made of natural fibre) and sprinkle water every half and hour or so, just to soak the sack.Sunlight will evaporate the water taking a room temperature as well. This works well even with multi storeyed buildings.
the dry ice will kill u if u put too much.. all ur room will have too much carbon dioxide. specially when u sleep u wont know cos carbon dioxide will let u feel sleepy when u get it more. can be a gas toxic
