Alarm a shed or install a stronger door?

Question:I have a brick shed, the door is ok but not great. I was going to alarm it and add it onto the house alarm, but will installing a stronger door be better? I know its easy to say both, but alarming will cost 20 quid a new door probably 100 quid.

Answers:
Get a separate shed alarm, and a decent padlock.

hook the door handle up to the mains!

Is there a way to reinforce the door rather than replacing it? If you have electric in or near the shed, you could also install a motion detector light. I have also seen these with a wire to the house that turns on a light inside to let you know there is activity out near the shed. Just a thought.
Alarm the shed. My theory being.. stronger door likely to lead to heavier use of potential intruders crowbar more damage caused, more expense and aggravation. I have even gone to the extent of leaving my summerhouse come workshop unlocked, but alarmed. If someone wants to get in, let them just open the door, causing no damage, and let the alarm go off. Have baseball bat near back door, and good neighbours.
sounds like you are going for a stronger door
