Will a Vinyl mattress cover be crinkly and hot?
Question:they're cheaper, should I get the padded quilted ones? I'm just talking about PROTECTING a new bed, here, not comfort or visual.

OH MY GOD YES! last year we got one when i was pregnant with Veronica..i was itching from everything.. thought i was dust mitest... it turned out i had a pregnancy rash.. any way.. we bought one and i could not sleep on it for one night!! and its wasnt even hot out yet.. spend the money and go for the quilted one!

The cheap vinyl ones tear like paper. Try to get a better one that's padded and of better quality. It will last longer, be more comfortable, and be the better bargain.
Vinyl is noisy and absorbs your body heat. It will be uncomfortable for you not to mention the noise when you move.
The truth is you probably need both the cover and the mattress pad. Yes the vinyl cover will bother you alone but if you add the quilted pad it will work better.
