Shady Apartment Gardening?!!?

Question:I love to garden, yet my apartment has only a shady porch. Any suggestions as to some potted plants I could use?

Answers:
Coleus, impatients, hosta, bleeding heart, ivies, primula, violas.

Any type of fern will do well. For flowering plants, there are impatients, hostas, wax begonias, coleus, primrose and pansies (plus many more).

Impatients are great shade flowers, and a great way to add color to a drab area! They do well in shade or sun and come in soooo many colors. There are the regular variety, and there are the New Guinea impatients. They do excellent in pots. Astilbe is another great shade flower. Hostas, bleeding hearts, are also shade loving plants. If you want something that will make a statement, Lady Fern is large, and stately, and loves shade. It would look very cool in a beautiful large decorative pot.
