We just moved and found out that outside of the house has ants all over. Need a safe way to kill them all.?

For ants on the counter top, wipe down the counter top with white undiluted vinegar. To prevent ants from coming into the house, or getting into cupboards, sprinkle dried mint or red pepper where they are entering the house and in the cupboards. If you know where the anthills are, make a mixture of 50 percent borax (sold in laundry aisle of supermarkets) and 50 percent confectioner's sugar and place near anthill. The ants are attracted to the sugar and carry the fatal borax/sugar combination back to the nest to feed the queen and other ants. Soon all ants will be dead. Do not put this mixture where children and pets can ingest it. To get rid of anthills, pour 3 gallons of boiling water down them. This is best when done when the ants are active and at the surface. Do not do it near flowers or they will die.
Find the nests / holes, pour in kerosene and burn them our. After a while, they will leave. You can also go to co-op / home depot / lowes for some ant killer but the kerosene is the cheapest way and there is no residual left on the ground for the dog to lick or baby to get into.

Union Carbide used to make an insecticide called Sevin that is dispersed in water. This is not very toxic and safe if used as per instructions. I find this very effective against ants.
Of course not to be used as breakfast for man or beast.
Who knows? by now the ants may have gone away.
