My rubber tree plant is small with about 5 leaves. If I put it in a large pot, will it get bigger?

Question:

Answers:
should

only if you water it with melted plastic. Also, I would recommend not using to big of a pot, depending on the space requirements of the area you are growing it in.
You have to give it more care. Just putting it in a bigger pot won't do anything to it. Try to add more nutrients to it and your plant will probably grow more. Just wait for a while. Don't try to speed up the process either.
It needs well draining soil. Ficus Elastica (If that is what you have) is a tropical. If you are in a cold zone it has to be indoors.

It is quite hardy and can stand some neglect. A general purpose fertilizer will do. 1 gm/ litre concentration once in a fortnight is adequate.

If it is the brown leaved type the leaves will become green if there is insufficient light. In poor light it tends to produce a small number of large leaves. When there is adequate light , more small leaves are produced.

It tends to become leggy and thin unless pruned regularly. It is easy to make a standard out of it. Just allow to grow straight for 2 to 3 feet then prune the top to encourage side branches.

Patience helps.
