What in the world is this squash, and what is it good for?


Question:I have a volunteer squash in my front yard. It vines out unlike a regular squash plant but, leave no doubt, it is a squash. The young squash look like baby watermelons. I have absolutely no idea how it got there but will be glad to accept this volunteer for whatever it is worth. Any help?
