Will lighting penatrate a house window or shatter it. I say shatter, boyfriend says penatrate. help!!!?

Question:

Answers:
Ordinary annealed glass would act as an insulator and would block the the lightening. Some energy efficient internally or externally tinted glass could act as a conductor and would shatter if struck, but most modern glazing practices make this highly unlikely. You would almost have to connect it to a lightening rod to make it shatter. RScott

Where did you ever get the idea lighting will shatter a window.? Or maybe you meant lightening, as in storm ? In which case it would probably go thru the highest thing on the house not a window. Most likely before coming thru a window it will hit your phone wire and knock out your computer. A phone man told me this.
