How do those touch and light bedside lamps work?
Question:They are brilliant but are the really off when they are dark? Can you stick your fingers down the lightbulb socket in safety?
Answers:
They work on a change of capacitance caused when you touch the lamp. Kind of in the same way that the volume of your radio changes when you touch the aerial.thats the best analogy I can think of.
Ok, so stick your fingers in the light socket, the capacitance changes, the only thing to light up is you! Dont try it, bad idea.
They work really good. My husband and I have one on each side of the bed and one as we enter the bedroom. And they can be dimmed too. I like them very well.
Yes, they turn off completely in the dark and I hope you are not serious about sticking your finger down into a socket, because it is never safe to do that, and why would you want to to begin with???
They are great for those trying to find a switch in the dark.
They work by a Pressure Sensor inside the base unit. You cant Stick ur fingers into it when its dark Because there is still electricity flowing through the circuit.
HOPE THIS HELPS
CHEERS NOSH
You touch it and it turns on!!
Hehe
They work from a relay and
small circuit board which is earthed
to the metal and when you touch it,
it activates the relay, giving you light.
I have 3 but they went faulty and I just cut the
relay box out and wired it through an inline
switch, Don't put fingers in the light holder
as you will activate relay and get an electric shock
maybe fatal??
