Is there any sort of cost-effective way to prevent house centipedes that is safe for pets?
Question:Last summer I was seeing about 1 per day in my condo. It helped a little when I sprayed the edges of the rooms with natural Raid, but I am looking for something stronger. My landlord has not been cooperative with hiring an outside pest control company, and I refuse to pay for it on my own. I have a 6-lb chihuahua so I need something that will not be harmful to her.

I used to have a serious problem with big black ants and someone suggested using CP and it worked! Just sprinkle it around the little cracks and crevices that they could be coming in from outdoors.
The color is a bit annoying , but I found ways to hide it by putting it in little sachets.

use this recipe as a spray
1 tablespoon liquid dish soap
3-4 garlic cloves, mashed
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 pinch salt
3 cups water
1. Combine all ingredients.
2. Mix and strain.
3. Place mixture into water and stir.
4. Pour Bug Repellent into a spray bottle.
you could fogg the place with fogger. Just fogg wit hthe windows open and leave the place for a few hours. You will see tons of critters coming out to die.

kymimom is right cayenne pepper is great also try vinegar and water in a spray bottle here in cajun country some thing's wrong if you don't have both of these things in your kitchen
