How To Get Rid Of Skunks??
Question:My friend Kat said that she has 4 baby skunks and one mother living under her porch. She really would like to know how to get rid of them!! Please be aware that she doesnt have a whole lot of money to spend on this problem. If you could please help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it because she has helped me out with alot of things :] Thanks!

best way is trap mom in a live trap, i know she is going to spray, but if calm maybe not. Then go under and retrieve the baby's, put gloves on and remove. Take out to the country put in safe area, baby's first, then relase mom, she will find them.
go ahead and laugh but moth balls work great and they are cheap.
Use a mut, they are outside dogs anyways. Just a theory, maybe not the best but hey.
They like dry cat food (better than dog food) - you can get a humane trap that - about 9" square on the end and about 2 feet long - they can not raise their tail to spray in that - maybe someone you know has one to loan. You would need to cut a cardboard box in a t shape with a hole in the top for the handle of the trap to poke through - that way when you trap the skunk you can put the cardboard "box" over it so it can not see out. This keeps the animal very calm so you can transport it out of the area. They have a home radius of 5 miles so you will be traveling companions for a while. Some animal control offices will do this for you once you deliver the trap - some even loan traps. You could just tie a long rope on the handle and throw the whole thing in a lake - using the rope to retrieve the trap at the end of the day and dispose of the remains of your problem.
Like the other person said, you need to trap the mother. Call your local or county animal control department and lie. Tell them that you have a skunk under your house and you think that the skunk is rabid because you have seen it during the day (skunks are normally nocturnal) and it was acting kinda crazy. Don't tell them foaming at the mouth, just say it was walking in your yard in circles and bumping into trash cans and other things. They will come running to remove it. Also mention that it has babies and they will remove then as well. One word of caution, if you go with this plan of attack the skunk will be put down along with the babies. Another option is for you to hire a pest removal company and they will do it for you for a price.

I would call your local Animal Control Shelter. They may advise you of what to do, or tell you who to call.
Sometimes they have skunk traps (live traps) they'll let you borrow, you catch them and animal control will pick them up.
