Earwig infestation?
Question:My house has a big earwig problem. It started out in one room in our finished basement. That room was crawling with them and the only thing stored there is clothes in the closet. The earwigs have made their way to the upstairs now. We kill them when we find them but they are in the kitchen and the bathroom. How can we get rid of them with out using a lot of chemicals. We have lots of pets and dont want to harm them.

I have small kids so I wanted something that would be safe to use with them crawling around the house. I went to doyourownpestcontrol.com. I found a product called Biffen I/T, they use it in food packaging places, restaurants, etc. I personally use it 2x's/year & it works great. Last year the earwigs and rolly-pollies were out of control. The problem was resolved within a couple days after spraying. I did a heavy coating outside 1 foot high from the ground and 1 foot out from the walls. Inside was just a small line around the baseboards. The basement I did small lines on the ceiling edges and baseboards.
I am super Allergic to those things. One gets me and I get a huge pus filled whelp. Curious to see what answers you get to get rid of them.
Earwigs and crickets are the only 2 bugs that freak me out! Why those 2 bugs, I have no clue but I am so sorry i would be going crazy. Good luck.
Earwigs are attracted to moisture and rotting wood. I would say if you can control the source of the problem you can control them.
