Where would I go to sell antique wood?

Question:We are disassembling a "smokehouse" that was built around the turn of the century (1906) and know that the wood is in excellent condition. A little planing and the wood is beautiful and can be recycled into cabinets, etc...

Answers:
Look up the salvagers in your area because they will give you the best price and probably already have people like me on their lists of "looking to buy". You can also look up local restorers, wood workers, interior designers, or furniture makers who may either have a need for your wood, know who does or where you can get the best price in your area.

maybe put an ad into your local thrift paper, which has a good circulation, which would give you good "exposure" and be cost effective. And you might call on your local sawmills to see if they might have someone in mind for that type purchase. where are you located?
