I would like to know how to make hummingbird food from sugar and water!?

Question:

Answers:
1 part sugar/4 parts water

Boil the water first, then measure and add sugar, at the rate of 1/4 cup of sugar to 1 cup of water.

Let cool and store excess in refrigerator until ready to use.

Do not add food coloring!

I use 4 cups of water to one cup of sugar. I usually bring the heat of the water up to quicken the disolving of the sugar. I have heard that you shouldn't add red food coloring to the mixture but I have done it and no harm has happened. After a couple days, the red seems to fade and the hummingbirds still find it so I guess it doesn't really need the coloring.
1 part sugar
4 parts water

First, bring the water to a boil, and then slowly add the sugar. Let it boil for a few minutes, then remove from the burner to cool. Store any excess nectar in the refrigerator.

Don’t try to get fancy and overcomplicate the recipe, food coloring is not good for the birds. Do not add other sweeteners, either, just use plain sugar, honey will ferment and artificial sweeteners have no nutritional content and may be bad for the birds as well.

If you are using a feeder, make sure you wash it every few days to prevent mold. If you create the right conditions, you’re likely to create a beautiful hummingbird haven!
1/4 cup sugar to 1 cup boiling water I add red food coloring and let cool then pour in feeder
I use one forth cup sugar for each cup of water, first I boil the water then add the sugar and stir until it is desolved and then let it cool, I use a red colored feeder, red food coloring can cause kidney damage to the birds.
I start putting my hummingbird feeders out the first of May. I use 2 cups of water & 1 cup of sugar. Heat to boiling & boil only about 2 minutes from the time it comes to a boil. Let it cool completely on the stove. Be sure to pull your feeders in by the middle of September so the little buggers with migrate. Also be sure to keep the feeders CLEAN & free of bugs & mold. Clean them VERY VERY well between refills...
