How do you get rid of ants that get in the house?

Question:

Answers:
For ants on the counter top, wipe down the counter top with white undiluted vinegar. To prevent ants from coming into the house, or getting into cupboards, sprinkle dried mint or red pepper where they are entering the house and in the cupboards. If you know where the anthills are, make a mixture of 50 percent borax (sold in laundry aisle of supermarkets) and 50 percent confectioner's sugar and place near anthill. The ants are attracted to the sugar and carry the fatal borax/sugar combination back to the nest to feed the queen and other ants. Soon all ants will be dead. Do not put this mixture where children and pets can ingest it. To get rid of anthills, pour 3 gallons of boiling water down them. This is best when done when the ants are active and at the surface. Do not do it near flowers or they will die.

u can put baby powder on it or get ant traps.
Little ant traps they go in eat some take some home and they all eat some and then they die. buy at your dollar store.
You're going to get a lot of answers about natural solutions: citrus, etc but I use Ortho Home Defense Max. I have cats and it's safe to use indoors.
Clean up. they only come in for food like eggs and cheese and then there are greese ants who like greese.
clean the counters and trash area and stove and they will go in one day.
get a spray that would kill them and keep the house clean coz ants eat what ever is there
I can only tell you what happened to me recently. We never had ants before, and all of a sudden we did. Someone had given us a pot with two Easter lillies in it. When I moved the pot, there was dirt under it, so I got a dust pan and swept up the dirt. When I got to where the light was better, I saw that I had a dustpan full of live ants. Getting rid of the plant and killing a lot of ants sort of solved the problem, but not completely. We have an old-fashioned house and the garage has two doors that swing open. I saw a lot of ants around there, and when I moved a block of concrete I use to keep one of the doors closed, it turned out to be located over a crack in the concrete where there was an ants' nest. I sprayed insecticide into the entrance and to my surprise it killed all the ants.
By insect spray
i suggest going down on your knees and trailing the ants back to their home/ ant hole.. close the hole with soap or detergent cake. This way they will not eat soap and open the hole again. keep an eye cause they may open another hole soon. a few attempts and they will give up and leave the area.
Spray them with Aerosol inset ct killer
insecticida.
There are 2 simple ways to do it --- w/out hurting the ants.
1. Place a few cloves or ''lavang'' used i spices, on the path of the ants; they will soon disperse.
2. locate the queen ant --- she will be a bit bigger than the rest of the worker ants.
Throw her away and lo !! the rest of the ants will disappear in no time.
The cruel way to do is pour some water on the swarm.
