I want to grow basil basically on my kitchen window. How do i go about it?

Question:Can it be grown any time of the year? I am in southern california what wether conditions are required for growing herbs?

Answers:
If you are growing it inside you can grow it year round. Just need a pot, potting soil, and basil seeds. Water it regularly and watch it grow! ;)

A plants main objective is to reproduce. Once it develops seeds it will usually die off. To extend it's life, snip off the seed pods as they appear. Enjoy the aroma, and good luck.
Basil should be grown in Garden Soil potting soil is for plants that need different nutrients...yes snip off the seeds to keep it going but you can have it seed and still live HOWEVER the basil will not taste good
