Best way to water indoor plants?
Question:Is it better to water indoor plants once a week and give them a bunch of water or should I water them a little bit frequently?
Answers:
DONT OVER WATER, JUST KEEP THEM DAMP TO THE TOUCH, NO ENOUGH WATER CAN CAUSE THE LEAVES AND BUDS TO DROP ASWELL
It depends on what indoor plants you have. Like a palm tree needs very little water so once a week is good. A pothos would need a little more water so every 4-5 days is good. In general you must water it if you see the soil being too dry.
The best way to water indoor plants is to check the soil for wetness. Stick your finger down into the soil about 1/2 inch. If it is dry when you pull it out then take the plant to the sink and let lukewarm water drain through and out the bottom of the container. You can also use water that has been left sitting for about a day to remove chlorine. During the spring summer months you should also fertilize with a houseplant fertilizer. Most houseplants can be taken outside for the summer, but proceed with caution. Do not put in full sun, but a semishaded area of the garden. You will have to acclimatize the plant gradually, by putting it outside everyday increasing it in minutes and then hours. After watering, remember do not overwater as this is always a plants demize. Let the soil dryout before watering again. In winter months you do not have to water as much, again let the soil dry out between waterings. If you see brown leaves it usually means chlorine from watering or letting it dry out too much before watering. Hope this helps!
