In the US you can check your local paper. There are people willing to haul old appliances away for free. Good luck.
Are you in the UK ?
If so take it to the local tip - they have a special area for them, you have to fill in a form.
If you can't get it there yourself phone the council and they will collect it ( but they charge you about £10)
Most stores which sell new fridges will haul away old ones.
If not, there are salvage companies and junk haulers that will do it for a fee.
Or haul it to the dump yourself. It'll cost a fee because it's considered hazardous waste.

If you're replacing it, the people who deliver your new one can haul the old one off. But if you decide to dispose of it somehow yourself, just remember to remove the door completely from its hinges first... Children can become entrapped in appliances and suffocate.
