Too many mosquitos...anyone know remedies to rid of them?

Question:the citronella candles aren not working and neither is this Dam*n moquito machine zapper. what else can i use?

Answers:
You need to make sure that there is no standing water nearby your house because this will greatly reduce your population if you eliminate their breeding grounds. Don't buy the cheap citronella's , they don't seem to work for us. We live in a small jungle in the city but I combat them all the time, they also hide in your shrubbery and trees in the day. My daughter said she bought an electronic device that doesn't zap them, it just keeps them away. I hate using the skin repellants because they smell bad and get in my eyes and hands if I touch them afer using them. I feel your pain though lol it's the worst thing about summer to me

There is an odor emitting fanned trap that works fairly well, Google mosquito traps and see if you can find them on line, might be at your local home center too.
make sure any standing water is dumped out, you can hang some bounce fabric softner sheets around your house. that should help.
get a purple martin bird house the birds eat like 600 bugs a day each , also bat boxes, bats eat bugs at night. it has worked great for us.
First check around your house to make sure there aren't things collecting water when it rains. This will give them places to breed, and it doesn't take much. There are plants called lemon or mosquito plants that are supposed to repell them. If you have a pond, lake, or creek near your home there is a product called Mosquito Dunk that can be put in the water to kill their larve. It's not harmful to plants, animals, or humans. Walmart or any hardware store should have them. Hope this helps!
