How do you recycle?
Question:If I sort my glass, plastic, newspaper, etc. what do I do with it?
Answers:
In my neighborhood we don't pay anything for the garbage pickup. Recycling is included. Every home is given a recycling bin. They take plastic, glass, newspaper, and cans. We don't have to sort it out at all. That's done wherever they take the stuff. They just dump all of the bin out into the recycling truck. They come the same day as the garbage collector once a week. :)
Call Waste Management and they may be able to get you some recycling blue bins to put the stuff in for recycling day
you could reuse it but otherwise get a green bin and put it next to your garbage.
It depends on whether or not your county has a recycling option. If they do pick up in your area, they will give your 2 bins: 1 for glass/metal/plastic, another for your newspapers, free of charge.
Call your county Solid Waste Management Department (in the phone book or call 411) to ask if they offer this service. If they don't, they will advise you of the alternative option in your area.
