We have fleas in our house!?
Question:But, we don't have any pets. We live by the beach near L.A. and whenever summer comes around, the fleas start to bite. I don't know how we can control this, I don't know where they're coming from but it is making me itchy and crazy. Please, any advice would save our summer!

I can't believe no one has told you to get the flea bomb. It is a liitle cannister of poison that you set off in the room and let it do its job.You don't need one in every room,mainly the largest open area will need one and one middle of the house and one in a bedroom. Be prepared to leave for about four hours or even longer. It needs to sit undisturbed for a while. I promise this will work as I have rented places before just to be eaten alive when its time to relax. It makes their eggs sterile so they can't hatch and kills the adults. Buy a good brand name bomb. Any hardware store or Wal-Mart. P.S.: sorry, didn't pay attention. No Wal-Mart close to you.
You really need to get rid of the carpet if you have it...The fleas lay their eggs which lay dorminte until warmer weather. Fleas come from outsida as well..Treat your yards and flower beds with insect repellent make sure it says..KILLS FLEAS on the list of insects it also gets
several sprays on the market. spray the house one day and again 6 days later and voila!

there is a product in the Ace Hardware stores, called NO PESTS STRIPS..
it is like a yellow piece of wax u hand up in the hanger, but! take a knife and cut this wax up and put it where u have the fleas the most, under furniture, under kitch cabnets, make it where a child will not handle it, but these will work.! If your house is large, get 5-6 strips.. if small, 3-4 will do
they run about 6-7.00 a piece, but worth it.

First take Black Pepper and put in along all the window sills and then go to a hardware store and buy some repellant that u can put on ur garden and flowers. And if you have any carpeting in the house get rid of it cuz the fleas lay eggs in it, and there is also some stuff that comes in a powder form that you can sprinkle on your furniture
after you treat the area with a flea killer use the vacuum cleaner on every square inch of carpet. make sure to do along the baseboards where the carpet is tacked down on the edges.
do this every day until fleas are gone..take the bag out of the vacuum and trash it outside in a closed plastic trash bag after each vacuum job.
the fleas just crawl back out of the vacuum if left inside the house.
also vacuum the furniture all around the cushions and between them too.
