Because of the new Home Information Pack that comes into force on 1June. Householders have to prepare a pack which costs about £500 if they put their property on the market after 1 June. By putting it on the market before 1 June they avoid this charge. If they don't sell their house before 1 Jan 2008 then they will have to prepare the HIP to keep the property on the market in 2008.
