Broken aloe plant?

Question:a friend gave me a piece of her aloe plant that has no roots. How do i root the plant, in water or what?

Answers:
Your Aloe plant will rot if you put it in water. Stick it in potting soil and keep it moist, NOT WET.

If it is just a piece of a broken stem, it wont root.
Get the root started in a glass of water, once you have some root/roots, you can plant in soil. Just put it in a sunny window & leave it alone. they are very simple to take care of.
