Pool-inground or above ground installation-which is better-wisconsin resident?
Question:
Answers:
I grew up with an in-ground , and then as an adult had a above ground. Here are some points.
An in-ground will take longer to warm up, the ground temp keeps it cool. An in-ground required more cleaning , the wind acted as a broom sweeping debris into the pool. An in-ground was harder to open and close properly in the spring and fall. An in-ground required more expensive fencing. ( make sure you check the requirements in your town for both)A above ground may not be as pleasing but , once you have grown tired of it , it is easy to get rid of. A pool does not increase property value. many people do not want the upkeep and cost of a pool.
You might want to find out what your insurance company allows first. I know they have asked me if I had a pool and if it was in ground or above. So you should check with them to see what the rates are and to see if you would even be covered by them if you got a pool.
All depends on what you're looking for. Inground pools are more expensive to install, but you can usually get them deeper than most of the above-ground ones. There are pros and cons to both, so you really need to decide what's most important to you.
