Lovely squirrels?
Question:i live very close to a wood so get lots of grey squirrels in my garden, i look out everyday to see them in the bird table eating nuts that have been put there for them and the birds. i just wondered if anyone knows of any other food that i could give them that they like?
also i wonder if they have the brain capacity to realise that we feed them or if they just think the nuts fall from the sky! strange thought i know but just something i've been wondering for a while!! all thoughts appreciated!

I personally think squirrels are lovely, yes they have bullied out the native Red Squirrel but who bought the grey squirrel here? MAN we bought them over squirrel is only doing what comes naturally to him and this is nature.
Carry on feeding him the way you are along with the birds, squirrels are clever little things have you not seen them when people have put up assault courses for them just to get 1 nut!

Please do NOT feed these pests. They have driven out the native red squirrel population. They raid birds nests and kill the young and destroy native trees. They are just like rats. You are actually encouraged to trap and kill grey squirrels - it's allowed in law. It's illegal to keep one as a pet. You have been warned.
Grey squirrels are pests. They have driven away the native reds and will eat baby birds in the nest. You`d be better off buying an air gun and shooting them.
squirrels are your best friend unless your trying to plant seeds, then they become my enemy bc they eat my would be beautiful flowers, never waste your money on squirrel food, just feed your birds and the squireels will mooch plenty, squirrels, i cant believe some people waste their money on squirrel feeders and squirrel food.its not difficult to keep them around
Suggest buying a squirrel trap. Cost around £20. Easily set, put peanuts in. After you've caught your squirrel wrap completely in an old towel, put in boot of car and take to nearest wildlife park and free. Make sure you protect your boot as they will otherwise poo! Also make sure they can't get your hands, as they can really bite.
