Are asperagus seeds red?

Question:I was just wondering.

Answers:
Yes asparagus seeds are red. If you want to harvest the seed to plant next year , wait until they are dry and pick them. Keep in a cool dry place and plant them (shallow) in the spring.

you will be grey haired before you get a seed to make a stalk large enough to eat. If you go to a garden center or a farm store you can buy roots to plant and get a good crop by the second year. Yes the seeds are little red round pods. the roots are clumps that look like a root ball with lots of little arms.
