How much does it cost to operate a 12000 btu air conditioner portable in dollars per hour an estimate even?..?

Question:

Answers:
I would think it would depend on the settings, If you have it on the coolest and high settings, it could be pretty costly, that's if you run it a lot . We have one in a rental house of ours, and the occupants are complaining about their electric bill.
They say they are only using it during the evening, and one or two ceiling fans, their bill is around 200.00 dollars.
I do know that ceiling fans being used on a fast setting are also costly.
hope this helps

about 20.00 a month for a few hours a day
They are not even close to dollars per hour. It is more like cents per hour. If you were to use it 24/7 it could possibly cost you as much as $50 a month on your power bill, but less use means less cost. Don't try to turn the room into a refrigerator, and the cost will be reasonable. Probably $10 to $20 a month.
wattage x cost per kilowatt hour x time on (in hours)

divided by 1000

Estimating 1700 watts, could be better with higher SEER.

1700 x ,0624 x 1 / 1000 = .10608 dollars for 1 hour.

Remember, the unit will cycle on and off after it meets demand temperature.

This estimate 'Window A/C 926 watts set @ 72* $71 year
