I see you are a UK resident and the answers above are mostly from USA. There are more flies there so they need 'screen doors' and air conditioning.
B&Q have an Electronic Insect Killer which attracts indoor flying insects by ultraviolet light into an electrical grid system and there they are zapped by electricity. They fall into a tray at the bottom and you can unscrew it to empty the casualties. They cost around 14 quid each and use about the same amount of power as a 40 watt bulb.
I've had one for a few years and find them great.
P.S.
If you have a problem with spiders, leave a few dried conkers (horse chestnuts) about the worst areas. They will soon move on because they don't like the odour that they can detect but humans can't.
Shut door and windows LOL.
There's a new invention called screen doors.
try to using flies spray..or try to burn the outer skin of oranges as this will make the flies go away but make sure the bad smell doesnt irrate the neighour...Goodluck
get a screen door and keep it closed. that way you get the air and not the flys
You need a screendoor.
how bout using sceens or close the doors and turn on the a/c?
sometimes you can just open the door and fan the flies out...try a bug spray...if you don't wanna chase the flies around with a flie swatter (?).
Sit on the front porch.
Flyscreen
Ticker Tape shield
Fly Papers
Keep Frogs in abundance
Remove dead bodies from under staircase...
i know a very fun way to de fly the house. i bought this bug zapper that is a toy tennis racket. it is so fun! it never misses either. it takes two AA batteries and you hold in the button and swing at the fly and it zaps them. they cost $9.99 and are kid safe too.
Get a bead door curtain when the door is open the flies can't get in.
Annie has it! Bead door curtain, the glitterier the better. On very still days you can direct a fan at it for movement.
You can get scented candles that keep the flies away there for outdoors but if you kept it near the door it might help good luck
You can buy netting, black or white, which attaches to the door frame or window frame using self adhesive velcro tape. My sister bought mine for me, from the colour suppliment in the newspaper. It cost about £10.
sticky fly paper- and but plastic bags of water out side the door(havn't tried this yet)
This seems to be an ongoing persistent pain in the bum lol, try citronella candles and burning incense, they hate the smell of them, they don't like smoke either or flame !
If you shut the window, turn a fan on to keep cool, but don't do this with the candles on as they won't burn. Also if you can get to a health shop try and get some toad flax and hang them in the doorway, they hate toadflax !
get a mesh screen door installed that should do the trick
