Is it cheaper (better) to enlarge the size of an older inground pool or to build a new one altogether?
Question:We're going to buy a new home, and need a long pool for laps. We can either buy a home that already has a pool and enlarge it, or else build a completely new one. Which is cheaper and more practical, please?
Answers:
it seems more practical to enlarge the pool rather than completely tearing it out and building a new one.
Building a new one would be the best bet. The cost of one depending on the style, the features, the pumping system ,would run about 35-40 thousand dollars. If you do get a new one,get a solar heated one! Costs allot to heat an older pool, quite allot! Bye Yall!
It depends on who is doing the work. If it is you, then it would be cheap either way. If you are hiring someone to do it, it would be cheaper to start new. I would not think it would be practical to enlarge one. But I guess it would depend on the pool. For laps, look into a swim -spa. You have several choices of installation and you swim in place.
Better to build a new one seeing that the big hole is still there
