Bicarbonate of soda is extremely useful household item to have. What do you use it for?
Question:I use it to remove stubborn smudges from wallpaper by rubbing them with thick paste of bicarbonate of soda. (Test first in an inconspicuous corner!).

Baking soda is awesome... I keep a box in the fridge/freezer and when it expires I will often use it on the carpets to pick up loose dirt/deoderize. I use it in the wash to get any soap residue out of my clothes and I sometimes if my hair is dull I use it with my shampoo in the shower... I use it to freshen my furniture. I sprinkle it on at night an vacuum it in the morning. It helps get rid of fleas if necessary. It's cheap and it's great.. I've used it to unclog a drain with some boiling water/vinegar.
Messy pots. I use a spoonful, fill the pot with water and bring it to the boil. Leave it to cool, empty the pot and hey presto! All the gunge just disappears.
My husband uses it to brush his teeth.
i use it for taking all the smells out of the matress on the beds you sprinkle it over the matress and leaave it for a few hours and the smell is all gone good if someone has vomited on the bed or had an accident x
1. To make your own baking powder, stir and sift together 2 parts of Cream of Tartar to 1 part baking soda and 1 part cornstarch.
2. Be sure to keep an extra box of baking soda by your stove in case of grease or electrical fire. Scatter the powder by the handful to safely put it out.

I walk like a tortoise and leap like a tiger - cleanliness is my thing - personal hygene - aware of my clothes and bedlinen looking like new - to keep them that way is important to me - bicrarbonate of soda together with juice of lemons is very excellent for hand washing the removal of stains from bedlinen or clothing provided you use 'cold water' never should you use hot water as the stain becomes permanent - cold running water is the key provided you have the right cleaners at hand - treat stains as soon as possble and in some instances cold water is suffient I sometimes use bicarbonate soda toothpaste to remove stains using my toothbrush - sounds strange ? - ok - I beleive you should use what is immediately available - when you have the stains removed put everything in the washing mashine as usual - some more advise - baking soda combined with lemon juice is amazing - a propriety brand cleaner is - called cif lemon cream popular in France - it contains no harsh bleaching agents friendly to environment - I try to think in terms of natural cleansers - oranges are quiet good for cleaning worktops provide you use some baking soda - however - you have to wash and rinse after the proceedure - tea tree is a good barrier to cleanse surfaces in the kitchen - use a few drops in hot water to wipe down surfaces after you have finished cleaning - you could also use lavender essential oil - whatever I like eucalyptus oil conbined with tea tree oil as you have two very good anti bacterial cleasers that have a wonderful unplifting fragrance - good to have in the bathroom - should you have a chest cold - or influenza -have a relaxing bath with lavender oils - about six drops in hot bath water - when you step out the bath you are glowing feeling relaxed and ready for bed - am I incospicuous about my behaviour - I don't have any wallpaper - whats that silly - open your eyes - have a nice day.
