Can anyone tell me what this bug is?

Question:I live in NJ, and while I was vaccuming I saw a giant ant looking bug. It was too big to be an ant, at least 2" long. It was spider size, but I'm positive it wasn't a spider. It had a brownish body with the last segment being reddish. I though maybe it was a queen ant, but what would she be doing in my house all alone. I wish I got a better look at it, but I panicked and vaccumed it up. Does anyone have any idea what this bug might be?

Answers:
probably a potato bug look it up

It could and is probably DEAD! If you go to the many websites that you can pull up on insects and bugs (same thing) you might find a picture!
They have big ant's called Bull ant's. They are really big! If the bug didn't have wings, it was not the Queen. The Queen ant is never left unprotected. It could have been an advance ant they send out before they invest a place. If all the ant's you see has wings, they are termites, but they are not excessively big. Hope this helps. Bugs do not like cedar chips or moth balls.
