Planting herbs outside in a pot...?

Question:I have a pot that is about 18 inches in diameter that I would like to plant herbs in, specifically basil and parsley. Is it okay to put them in the same pot? (I have a real black thumb--I really do need to be told)

Answers:
Those two should be fine together. They're both full sun plants that require moderate amounts of water. Be careful not to over water. Stick your finger in the soil up to two knuckles deep. If it's dry, water, otherwise don't. I've found that chipmunks are rather fond of parsely. Mothballs will help keep them away if that's a problem for you.
