How to get rid of flies ?

Question:they are in the kitchen any ideas

Answers:
Hang a 'baggie' filled with water, with a 'copper' penny in it, just outside your kitchen door - the flies will stay away, and won't come in, when the door is opened and closed!
Sound weird?
Try it - it really works. . .
Why?
I haven't a clue . . . this remedy has been being used (in the Southern States) successfully, since the invention of plastic storage bags. . .

fly swatter or bug spray
1) remove anything that has a strong smell.
2) close the windows
3) chase them towards an open door/window?
4) use a sticky strip of paper which will attract flies and then they'll get stuck on them and you can bin the strip.
fly swatter OR you can buy a fly trap
swat them
Pour coffee grinds in your garbage can, and pour some in your window sills.
clean your fridge out
Buy some fly tapes. They're very cheap, and hang from the ceiling. They don't look particularly nice, but they're basically big gloopy gluey strips that attract flies, which then become stuck.
hang clear plastic bags with water around the area with a srting. i know it sounds way bizare but it really does work. if you've ever seen this at a resturaunt, it is used to prevent flies!
keep your kitchen neat and tidy
Put food away when you are done with it...don't leave any food out. Shut your windows and turn on the AC.
Most importantly you need to find out where they are coming from. If you have an opening from outside, repairs need to be made. If they are between windows, and waking up, etc. a bug spray could help. Mostly removal will take care of the problem. You could also try hanging fly paper depending on the quantity you are dealing with.
Hi,
REMOVE ANY PLANTS! They attract flies really bad, i know some one who killed a hundred flies in half an hour all down to a plant!

scented/plain candles
fly repellent
uv light

I have heard if you put jugs of water on the window they will go straight for that so maybe put some on the outside window!
To catch flies, take a 2 liter plastic (a 20 ounce bottle might work, I never tried it) soda\cola bottle, and cut the top off just above half. Put some bait in the bottom part, remove the screw cap from the top. Turn the top part upside down, and stick it into the bottom part.

You can take the screw on cap off, or do as I do and drill\cut a small hole in the top, before you assemble the trap. I prefer to drill a hole so the fly has a smaller hole to navigate to get out.

The flies can find their way in to the bait, but cannot get back out. This works very well. Outside in my yard, I use a piece of meat and a little water since I put it away from my deck and cannot smell it. The water keeps the meat from drying to quickly and losing it’s attraction. If you are going to use it inside, I guess beer, a molasses\cornmeal mixture, vinegar, or honey will work without the offensive odor.

As the flies get trapped, it gets ugly inside.

Guaranteed to catch flies.
You have to be careful using fly spray in the kitchen as it can contaminate worktops etc, try using one of those hanging sticky strips, even though they do look awful. I usually spray the fly spray into the middle of the room, close all the doors and windows then go in a while later and pick up all the dead flies and clean all worktops etc. Bit of a hassle but it does work.
get rid of anything they are attracted to, make sure you keep an eye on your fruit bowl and put a lid on your sugar dish. If you receycle your food waste make sure you keep it in a container with the lid closed. Keep your surfaces clean and free from stucky stuff they might find tasty. They also like pets dishes so pick them up when yourr pet isn't using them.

That will help to prevent them coming in the first place. To get rid of them or repel them put fly screens over your windows if you have them open. Citronella repells flies so you could consider getting some citronella candles or spray if you want to avoid nasty chemicals..

If you feel you must resort to chemical sprays, shut all of the windows first. Remove any pets from the room. Especially fish, fly and wasp spray will kill them. Do not leave any food out uncovered. Then spray the room, leave and close the door for around 30 minutes. You can go back in and clear up the dead flies afterwards. I would suggest that you wash all your surfaces too, there are nerve toxins in those sprays and it isn't something that you want to be ingesting.

you can get stickers to put on the windows that omit a sort of scent that they don,t like,or you can put up sticky strips that they get stuck to,or you can get an electric neon light that zaps them on contact.
Get bags of vinegar or spray vinegar around
Hope it helps you worked for me
