Question:buildinga a house on a hilside overlooking the beach in the phillipens, so its hot and tropical wheateher,

I saw a pretty cool design that I've thought of using one day.
The home was basically a roof with garage doors for walls which can be opened so there are no walls at all.
Here's the way I'd do it:
Start with a cement pad.
You know at gas stations they have structures over the pumps that are just a roof.
There is the roof
garage doors that are on tracks..replace the wood panels with plexiglass
That is one layer of wall
Roll up garage doors for solid walls
So the house is effectively a roof and 2 types of garage doors for walls
You can be completely outside, or have various layers of walls depending on the weather.
All I need for my visit is a phone booth with an air conditioner installed in it. At night, I'd simply lay the phone booth on it's side, take the phone off the hook and go to bed, cool as a cucumber.
i would sugest a light blue through out it and seashells everywhere nothing else like a bright red would ruin it

I designed a 40ft X 40ft beach house with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths with a wraparound porch as a rental unit. The bedrooms are on the corners and have sliding glass doors opening onto the porch on 2 sides. They are about 12ft X 14ft and separated by the 2 bathrooms. The front entrance is into a large family room which extends all the way to the back of the house where the kitchen is separated from the living area by a long countertop and eating bar. A large dining table would sit between the bar and the living area. There is a large storage closet and a washer dryer area as well. This design would easily accomodate 2 couples with 8 children comfortably.
