i always use neat bleach on my sink, use as much as you like, if the sink is newish then apply with a cloth, if its old then use a sponge thingy with the green, rough side!!
Bleach doesn't clean. It desinfects (kills germs) but it does not remove dirt.

Use a a normal cleaning and a mild polishing agent; those nylon sponges with one rough side; or otherwise steelwool work wonders.
The cleaning is done mechanically (by removing the dirt), not by bleach.
I always use the softscrub with bleach and it works great.
