And amazingly - Avon 'Skin so Soft' (Body Oil) it's anti midge properties were discovered by accident during a photo shoot in Scotland by the crew or models of Sir Patrick Lichfield.
Citronella oil, it's brilliant a friend told me to try it. I put a tiny drop on ankles and wrists and nothing bites me, it's great. I got mine from a chemists so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding it.
Citronella is the answer but never use essential oils (except lavender or tea tree) without first diluting them. 1drop of essential oil to 10ml of carrier oil ie grape seed, olive or sunflower.
mint leaves ,rubbed on ,helps keeps the black flys away, and AVON SKIN so Soft on skin will help,or put these on a bandanna around neck..
Depends how rich you are, there is a machine that clears a 2000 meter square area of midges but it costs nearly £400. I would love one if I had the spare cash.
Put 2 drops of pure citronella oil into 30mls of plain basic cream (can get this from the chemist). Also you can get empty 120 ml cream jars from the chemist and add 8 drops to the entire jar full of cream. Smooth this on when in the environment of midges.
I use skin so soft by avon great you can now get the body spray just spray it on and go great for the mosquitoes on holiday too.
