Do you need a special roof on a conservatory for a bungalow.?
Question:
Answers:
I have a bungalow with a conservatory. The type of roof you have should be decided by the conservatory companies surveyor. Any reputable company should check the type of roof you have on your bungalow and advise of what will fit.
I'm assuming of course that you were asking what style of roof rather than what material. Material wise you can choose that yourself.
No, choose whatever you like, we have a bronze tinted one in plastic.
The options are basically glass or polycarbonate. Glass is heavier and more expensive, will keep the room hotter (and you may need expensive blinds to counteract the glare), while polycarbonate can be tinted or opaque which will be cooler in summer plus has the benefit of stopping the neighbours looking in from above (if you are overlooked). When I had mine built I went for 30mm polycarbonate in an opal colour, plenty of light still gets through.
