Mountain glories, do they need to be staked, or supported?

Question:

Answers:
did you plant them near a fence ? if so then dont worry they will find a way to climb by themselves . If you just planted them by themselves then add a trellis and they will climb that . they are a vine and sometimes they take over your whole yard sometimes you have to cut them back .

If you mean morning glories, the answer is yes. They need something to climb on, like a fence. I don't like to stake them because they look unnatural. It's prettier if you let them meander the way they want to. I've also planted them next to my shrubbery and let them climb over them. It adds color to just plain greenery. Morning glories need full sun to bloom and they do indeed bloom in the morning/early afternoon. Then that particular flower closes and does not reopen. However, the plant produces a profusion of flowers, so you really don't notice those who have closed. They are a lovely flower that blooms all summer into the fall until frost. Hummingbirds love them, which is an added bonus.
