HOW long does it take for a MOUSE to get caught in a trap because it has been two days?
Question:ITS a glue trap!
Answers:
remember that mice/rats are nocturnal. did you block the entrance where it was coming in and out? maybe it cannot get back in? also the mice/rats do not have good eyesight. did you bait the trap? i have never used a glue trap but they have to want to go toward the trap. we just had professionals and they caught it on the first day, using a regular trap and they used walnuts. just a small piece. maybe put a walnut on the glue trap? good luck!
Glue traps are cruel. And mice carry diseases. Either bait an old fashioned snap trap or poison it with Decon...it dries them out so they dont smell while rotting away somewhere
well its not like the trap is calling the mouse's name... it could take a while sweetheart...
mice n rats also tend to walk along the floor next to the walls.. so ud score a better chance at getting it by putting it in a corner.. or along the wall on the floor.. probly where u may have seen droppings..
We've never used glue traps, I've heard they'd rather chew off their legs and escape than die slowly. We use the kind that looks like a pincher, rather than setting the old-fashioned kind as somehow no matter how carefully we smeared the peanut butter on it, they could lick it off without getting caught. It's easier to release the dead one and easier to reset. Did I say peanut butter? Oh, yes, they love it and sometimes we treat them with a tidbit of chocolate as well. Place the traps along the wall and preferably under a low table or shelf so kids and pets don't get at it. If you choose poison, be careful that pets or kids don't get at the dead creature, either (the poison could transfer.) Be patient, it may take a few days so check the traps daily. If you hear a loud snap, don't run and look right away (I once made that mistake.)
