How old is the place where you live...?

Question:This can be the house, a flat, bedsit, or, a caravan etc.

My house is 45 years old. Its an ex-council house on a small estate.

Answers:
Ours is a late Victorian terrace, built in 1895. The three cottages onto which our terrace is built were constructed in the mid 1700s.

Mine is around 10 years old, lived here for 6. Also ex council, but now it's all mine!!
my house turns 50 years old this year. was built in 1957 - same age as my husband
Mine was built in 1896.
My house was built in 1883.
mine was built around 1960.
100 exactly..lol..not very spooky though
my house is two years old on a new estate
built in the thirties
I'm in a council ground floor flat and they were built in 1974, sad, modern soulless boxes the lot of em :(-
Mine is about 60 years old; but the one I lived in before was built in 1898 and still going strong.
My house is less than two years old, but the village where I stay on west coast of Scotland is over 1000 years old x
I'm not exactly sure of the date it was built but I do know it's more than a 100 years old. It's my first home, just bought it Dec/06 and I adore it! There's so much character to older homes (even if they do take a bit more work to restore, it's well worth it).
I live in a country home that is about 90+ years old set on about an acre of land. I love my home. Have often thought I's like to live near the ocean, but I'd have to take my house with me!
My house was built in 1886, so it's pretty old, but the house that I grew up in was 300 years old in parts. One of my friends grew up in a house that was built in 1100 - it's the oldest inhabited residential building in England. It's seriously creepy, though.
I live in a house that's 56 years old.. and we've done what feels like the first renovations since it was built!

It even has a well in the cellar!

We also have an aerial photo take three years after it was built which shows it looking almost exactly the same as it did when we bought the place!
Our spec house was new when we moved in - so a few months older than that for all the hoo hah which goes on with builder, Estate Agent, Solicitors, etc. - on 22nd November 1974. It cost £15,999 and all our friends and colleagues gasped when they realised how big a mortgage we must have taken to buy it and the size of our monthly repayments!
ours was built in the late 70's and is on a private estate - like as in not ex-council estate.
Likewise my House is an ex Council House on a small Estate with a decent size Garden front and back. built in 1948 about 58-9 years old. it is only a two Bedroom House most People Build Kitchen Extensions or Two Floor Extensions and have an extra Bedroom whenever they can get the Money together. it is in North Dublin not far from the Seaside.
It's weird to wonder what the folks who lived in your house were like, I traced the previous occupants of mine back to 1726 when the wattle & daub was replaced with bricks, it's called bricknogging. It was built long before then, and i'm told that the only way to find out more would be to look at church records--not seen any goasts yet!
1640, we think.

somewhere arond that time anyway

Farm House

In 1927 it was sold for £178 ! ( including the land - about 7 + 186 acres )
My flat is bout 27 years old.
I live in a bungalow which was built in 1963,the same year I had my first son!
mine was built in 1936...part of a RAF Housing project in Lincolnshire ..its also haunted by Captain John Jones ..a Lancaster pilot that crashed in the Fields at the end of my garden..( RAF Wickenby ) .. the old air field is not a place you want too walk about at night..!
i don't know
What an interesting question. It was fun to read all of the answers. Boy some of them are really old in comparison.
But I was also surprised to hear that most of them were in the Uk. one or two in Ireland, and Scotland.
.(Hi! Ireland, I'm 3rd generation Irish , and proud of it)
Well, I live in the USA and mine is only 1971, so it does not compare to the others. I'm sure you all have some stories to tell. That made my day.. Thanks.
about 100 years old house converted into flats
