Why does an automatic kettle not switch off if the lid is ajar?
Question:
Answers:
It must be kept open from the top. So the pressure cannot trigger and auto switch off the kettle. Check if it is closed properly.
cause its the pressure from the steam that knocks it off.no lid on = no pressure
I think it's because the kettle works on pressure inside the kettle to trigger the switch going off. If all the steam pressure is allowed to escape, then the kettle doesn't know that it must switch off. I think that is why, but I am not 100% sure.
The lid builds up the heat so the kettle would switch of when hot enough.
The micro switch for the lid is faulty
