I need a good ground cover that is only 2-3" at most and will be planted in full sun. State is SC.?

Question:This ground is between a pool and a playground so will get some foot traffic by children, but not daily.

Answers:
Snow on the mountain is a beautiful ground cover. So is english ivy.

Get on Freecycle.org (everything is free) and ask for some from local residence. You'd be suprised how many will give you some...It grows fast & spreads beautifully, so I imagine someone out there is willing to thin theirs out. Good luck & God bless.

How about creeping phlox?
That wonderful southern plant provided by the Japanese and given by the Federal Govt- Kudzu. It'll stand up to any traffic and quickly cover your bare spot.
Try vinca minor...covers quickly and takes a lot of abuse. Also, you can get it with either purple or white flowers and it's beautiful in the summer. There's vinca major also but it has a bigger leaf and may be larger than what you're looking for.
