Natural, possibly homemade, bug insect killer for my garden?
Question:In my garden first time this year and there are tons of silverfish, millipede and pill bugs. What can I use to safely yet effectively eliminate them? I want something non-toxic as I would like to plant in the same area after cleanup. Thanks.
Answers:
A mixture of water and ordinary dish soap can be pretty effective. Here is my favorite.
Pepper Soap
Blend four jalapeno peppers and three or four cloves of garlic in a blender or food processor with four cups of water. Place this mixture in another container, and stir in one teaspoon of vegetable oil soap. Let this homemade insecticide set for about twenty-four hours, and strain it through cheesecloth or a wire mesh strainer before pouring it into a sprayer and spraying it on bug-ridden garden plants. Be sure and spray the undersides of foliage, and reapply this homemade insecticide after it rains.
You can also scatter crushed egg shells on the soil around the plants to get rid of snails and slugs if you have them.
Soak tobacco in water and use it as a spray.
