How do you hang a large circular wall quilt?

Question:My quilt is approximately 72" wide at the widest point.

Answers:
If you want just the quilt to be visible, and not its hanging apparatus, sew a facing on the back side, with reinforced buttonholes near the outside perimeter of the facing.

Have a plumber, or the hardware guy, bend a half [or whole] circle of copper tubing to insert inside the facing. Place hangers on the wall in a carefully spaced semi circle, and hang the tubing onto the hangers through the buttonholes.

The easiest way would be to display it as a half-circle: hand a 6-foot rod and fold the quilt over it.

If you really want to show the whole circle, I would suggest stitching it to a fabric background, and then hanging the background piece. The quilt would need to be anchored in many places -- the more areas you stitch, the more you will distribiute the weight.
