Persistent Individualistic Carpenter Ants???

Question:I see some carpenter ants every now and then around the house, but the darndest thing is: never more than one at a time! No ant lines, no couples, just lone ants wondering aimlessly around places that don't even have food or moisture. What should I do? What are they after?

Answers:
This happend at our house for about three months, no lines of ants, just one or two random ones. We did a combination of things: 1. we sprayed Raid ant killer
2. watched one ant to see where he was coming in from, found it was a hole around the window, caulked the hole shut.
3. placed ant killer traps around the house
4. placed bay leaves around the house as well, carpenter ants don't like them very much.

They are after you!!!
Run, hide...move!
Tee hee, only kidding, maybe they are the ones that go out and look for the new place for the colony??
