How do I keep centipedes from?

Question:flourishing around the home? What do they dislike and will either kill them or just chase them away?

a hand full of hot chilli's
a full head of garlic
roughly chop
a spoon or two of salt
bring to the boil..let water reduce to half
cool...strain
put in a trigger spray bottle
treat affected area
