What is the best way to get rid of a wasps nest it is in the wall cavity please help?
Question:
Answers:
try injecting an insectide dust into the wall void. the best place to do this is where the wasps are entering/exiting this way they can help spread the dust to the nest. wasps usually dont nest in wall voids. it could be yellow jackets, honey bees, or hornets. either way if you do it your self its going to be dicey.
in the evening place a rag soaked in petrol in it they will leave if they dont squeze out the petrol back in your tank.
We got rid of one that had an opening near the foundation by placing the hose of a shop vac next to the opening. As the wasps came out, they were sucked into the vacuum where we'd put a rag saturated with Raid. It took the shop vac running most of the day (the canister was about half full when we opened it a week later) but the wasps finally quit coming out and any remaining weren't enough to sustain the nest. We put a quadrupled plastic bag fastened with rubber bands over the end of the hose when we turned off the shop vac so none of the wasps could escape.
...in any hardware store there is some foam insulation stuff called "Great Stuff", that expands to fill voids ... it is building friendly, insulation rated, draft sealant, and moisture resistant... perfect for what you describe... wait till night fall, follow the directions on the can, and squirt the hole full, then plug as best you can until the foam sets.
easy...safe... effective...and dual purpose accomplishment..! no more wasps, repair insulation gap, and improve home integrity.
Costs about 10 bucks... no toxins...no poisons.. no stings.. no failures.. no more wasps ever...in there.
Raid foggers or Hot Shot foggers; read instructions carefully.
It worked for us. Get them at Wal Mart; they come 3 cans in a box for about ten bucks.
Call in the professionals, they will get rid of them safely at no risk to yourself.
Call in "Wasp Busters" but go away for the day when battle commences. You see Mr Wasp does not like being killed and he don't treat it as a joke but comes out fighting.
