House warming party?

Question:my husband and i just purchased a condo...this is the first time we have ever purchased a home...we rented and then had to live in a fema trailer for 15 months.we would like to have a house warming party...can we have one or should we wait till we buy a real house (which we plan to do in a few years when i get out of school) and is it okay to register since people are going buy gifts anyway.that is usually what happends anyway right? we want to show off our place...is this the right way to do it?

Answers:
Usually you wait until you get into the house to get the gifts. I just finished a housewarming for my best friend and it was a blast. She waited until she got into the house so she would know exactly what she needed and where she wanted it to go. I think it's best that you wait until about a month before you move in to register at any stores. In the meantime make a list for everythng you need. Best wishes to you! Congrats on the new house!
