How or where can I sell 150 collector plates?
Question:Most of them come in sets. They are each valued in the $5.00 to $10.00 range, are individually boxed and come with a certificate of authenticity. I considered Ebay, but each plate has hundreds of other people selling the same plate. I prefer to sell them together as a group rather than separately, because they are taking up valuable space in my home. They were given to me by a relative and I really don't want them. I contacted a local auction company and was told that the market for collector plates is "bottomed out" and there is no guarantee they will sell if I use their service.
Answers:
Next time a friend has a garage sale, ask if you can come with a table and try to sell them yourself. Give her some extra money to list the brand names of the collector plates in the ad. You may get lucky and have someone that wants to buy some of them. You might want to do some research on ebay with the names of the plates. You may have several that are worth a lot and not even know it. Some are rarer than others, that's for sure.
Make a web site with the plates on it and the prices you want for them. Also make sure you notify them they will be responsible for shipping and handling.
Make sure you have your friends include a link to your site, especially if you have friends that use Yahoo 360.
Post flyers at grocery stores. Send you online friends flyers to post for you also.
If you need help let me know. I can walk you through making a Yahoo 360 site and tell you how you maybe able to get hits for your plates.
